The unique feature of Redcoats.io lies in its 4-class character system. It not only changes your weapon, but also changes how you move and fight.

Musketeer

The "backbone" of the army. Accurate guns, but reload times are as long as a lunch break. You'll have to learn to hide behind teammates while reloading and only shoot when you're sure of a "one-shot kill."

Cavalryman

For the daredevil. You ride your horse at breakneck speed, slashing fiercely before charging forward. This is the most "annoying" class because you can sweep through infantry formations, but just one log or bomb crater... and you're "canned meat."

Cannoneer

The bloodthirsty king of the game. With a cannon, you can "farm kills" from afar without needing to aim too carefully. It's extremely powerful at destroying structures and clearing out large troop concentrations. The only downside: if the enemy gets close, you'll probably only have one option: charge forward with a hammer.

Sailor

Not only fighting on land, Redcoats.io also has river battlefields. This class specializes in ship-based combat, climbing onto enemy ships, or sniping from the river.

A little tip from the writer: If you're new to the game, don't be tempted to choose Cannoneer or Cavalry right away. Start as a lowly Musketeer, follow the crowd, shoot on command (or shoot randomly and run) to get used to the recoil and extremely slow bullet speed of this era.

Stiff Controls And Artistic Gameplay

Don't expect the high-speed jumps and dashes of CS:GO or Valorant. Redcoats.io recreates the "stiffness" of ancient soldiers.

• Aim: You can move using WASD and aim. Press Shift or right-click to aim, getting a clearer view of your opponent's face before... getting shot.
• Reload: Learn to stay calm. After each shot, you'll experience a period of "death" to reload. This is when you're very weak; duck (C key) or hide behind a teammate.
• Mount/Interact: Press F to mount a horse or board a boat. Here's a little tip: You can move across the map using the M key; always keep an eye out for the main battlefield so you can reach it in time... to die.
