An underground laboratory, flickering electrical systems, and mutated creatures await their chance to emerge from the darkness. Last Light is a 2D zombie survival game combining shooting, resource gathering, and defense building. The goal isn't simply to kill as many zombies as possible. You must explore each area, find access cards to unlock passages, manage the power supply, and prepare enough forces to survive the nighttime attacks.
The journey in Last Light begins by choosing one of three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, or Hard. Each choice determines the level of challenge you face as you find your way out of the research facility. Seven dangerous levels separate the character from the surface, while abandoned rooms may contain coins, useful items, and colorful access cards.
Access cards are the key to getting into the locked research areas. You have to look around the world, find workbenches and see question mark icons to find stuff or places you can interact with. You can move from one place to another, there are stairs and lifts between the floors. But if you search too long without a plan to pull back, you’re defenceless when the zombies come.
Electricity is one of the most important elements of Last Light. Electricity powers automatic doors, lighting systems and lifts. Overuse can overload the electrical grid, setting off alarms and establishing circumstances for zombie invasion. When something goes wrong, you have to discover the switches in the basement and turn the system back on.
It is a good day to scour for supplies, scout out routes and beef up defences. Mutant waves of fury will turn the research area into a battlefield by midnight. Guns enable for direct enemy elimination and automatic turrets can assist in guarding key routes. Also, utilise vending machines and anything like that to obstruct narrow entrances.
Coins from defeated zombies and laboratory materials can be used to upgrade fighting skills. You can spend into weapon damage, character stats or defence systems. You’ll keep your weapon proficiencies and combat abilities during several playthroughs, so you don’t have to start from scratch on your next go.
It may be a good idea to not spend all your money on defences from the get go. Having a better gun or better character stats means you can handle difficult circumstances more efficiently, especially when the zombies break through your defences.
Every choice you make regarding time, power, and resources might influence your odds of fleeing the lab in Last Light. To move closer to the surface you have to investigate smartly while developing a defence system powerful enough to survive nites full of zombies.
